Wendy Bumgardner, editor of the <a href="http://walking.about.com/b/2009/12/29/top-10-walking-trends-of-the-decade.htm">Walking section</a> at about.com, has pulled together a list of the <a href="http://walking.about.com/od/cardsandclipart/tp/walking2000-2009.htm">Top 10  Walking Trends of the Decade</a>.</p>
<p>My personal favorite: #8, Research Supports Walking for Health and Fitness. A <a href="http://www.dukehealth.org/health_library/news/9296">recent study from Duke Universit</a>y shows that walking briskly 12 miles per week or roughly 125 &#8211; 200 minutes per week provides health benefits and decreased the risk of cardiovascular disease.</p>
